K’gari Getaway 4×4 Tours – Group Charters (minimum 10 passengers)

Rainbow Beach departure times change according to beach tide conditions. The duration of the tour is approximately 5 hours.  Tour does not travel inland but explores the beautiful coastal attractions of K’gari.

Day includes:

Short Ferry Crossing – keep an eye out for dolphins and stingrays.  

75 Mile beach – we drive along this breathtaking golden highway featuring stunning ocean view and expansive sandy stretches.

Eli Creek – take a refreshing swim or float lazily down the largest creek on the eastern beach, with almost 100 million litres of clear freshwater flowing daily.

SS Maheno Shipwreck – explore the historic wreck of the SS Maheno, a former passenger liner and WW1 “troop” hospital ship that was shipwrecked in 1935.  Today, it stands as a captivating rusted skeleton on the beach.

The Pinnacles – admire the vibrant rainbow-coloured sands, featuring 72 unique shades, considered one of Australia’s best sand formations.

Wildlife – We often see wongari (dingos) – remember they are wild animals.  Treat them with respect and do not feed them.  Also look out for sea eagles and the majestic humpback whales passing on their winter migration from the Great Southern Ocean (Antarctica) to the warmer waters of the Coral Sea.

Indigenous Culture – learn about the Butchulla people, the traditional custodians of K’gari.  Centuries of rich history and dreamtime stories.

PRICES:  $175 per adult, $98 per child (3 – 14 years incl.)  Price includes morning or afternoon tea (biscuits).

What to bring – swimsuit, towel water and money for snacks/drinks or if you prefer you can bring your own snacks and drinks.

Note – even though this tour does not go inland where the tracks can be very bumpy at times, this is still a 4WD tour and may not be suitable for people with back problems, pregnant or prone to travel sicknes
